RX Connect
Following the success of LabLink, which we developed and launched in 2021 we worked with Riley, a sub-division of the Globus Group to develop and launch RX Connect. RX Connect is a platform that reinvented the way in which prescription safety glasses were managed, manufactured and distributed.
Design
A primary objective for the platform was simplicity, and with that in mind we put a huge focus on user experience, ensuring that our approach was human-centred across the whole UI and all interactions.
We developed a mobile-first platform to manage prescription safety glasses, handling prescriptions, frames, purchase orders, factory workflow, electronic data interchanges and much more.
The Software
Based on a SaaS model, the entire platform is designed to be self-managed and to enable the partners of Riley to simply order and manage prescription safety glasses for their teams.
The distribution of PPE for large organisations is generally fulfilled by a distributor, the platform acts as a bridge between employers of any size and the distributor they use.
All transactions are tracked, and the relevant parties updated to streamline approval and authorisation. The platform caters for all the needs for corrective eyesight, including the optional innovative coatings that might be required, whilst intelligently checking the compatibility of frames for lenses of high-powered prescription strengths.
Within a few clicks, high performance prescription safety glasses are requested, manufactured and delivered so people can work safely.
Data Processing
From the offset working smart with data was high on the agenda. Prescriptions can get complicated but with an intuitive UI we simplified the whole process. All prescription attributes, SKU codes and pricing matrices are automatically reconciled and using smart API’s, processed and pushed to the relevant ERP systems – it was great to work with the team in Iceland to achieve this.
It was a real privilege to work across all the teams, from accounts to laboratory technicians, developing a platform – that we’re told – stands out from any other on the market. Using data and technology we strived to streamline workflow, saving thousands of hours for the many teams that collaborate to bring safety to the workplace.
Smart processing with Microsoft NAV
We worked in collaboration with the Microsoft NAV developers to integrate a RESTful API into RX Connect, the API served as a bridge between NAV and RX Connect. We produced a full suite of documentation that enabled developers to reference and use the API simply, NAV queried the API to retrieve information for purposes such as invoicing, the data was provided in a very strict XML based format which made it easy for the team to integrate into Miscrosoft NAV.
